I've decided that I enjoy painting flowers more than anything else. And since I can't actually grow them, I'll just keep painting them... paint my very own flower garden.
Okay... so I have a new favorite. When I finally decided I was done, I stood back 15 feet and I could suddenly "see" the flower for the first time. Until that moment, it was all just patches of color on canvas. This is my largest oil painting yet, but it only took me 2 1/2 hours to complete last night, so I am definitely getting faster.
This weekend, June 10th, 11th, and 12th, these three of my paintings will be on display (and available for purchase) at the Sawnee Artists Association's Bellezza Art Show. It's at Lakeland Plaza in Cumming, GA and I'm very excited to hang my work alongside other local artists.
This one was quite a struggle. I became so frustrated with it that I nearly threw it away. But I waited a few days and went back and finished it. In the end, I think it turned out pretty well.
